Spring Break Tripping
Believe it or not spring break will be here soon! Whether you are hopping a plane to a warmer climate, hitting the islands, or heading to the mountains for a ski weekend, here are some tips to keep you looking good and ease packing for your spring break trip.
Keep it stylish and comfy for travel: Whether you are taking a plane or fighting I-70 traffic, you want to keep comfy and look great while making your way to your destination. Consider knits and fabrics with stretch when choosing your travel outfit. Add layers to mitigate the changes in temperature that come with moving from one climate to another.
Pack a capsule: A capsule wardrobe is simply a set of mix and match items that give you more flexibility! Think about choosing one dark color (black, gray, or brown) and one or two coordinating colors for all of the items you pack. The colors can be patterns and prints, or solids.
For example, for a long weekend you can pack a pair of our black leggings, joggers, black jeans, and black trousers or flare leggings and mix and match your coordinated, colorful, patterned tops as you please.
Consider layering a black jacket and/or coat, depending on your destination. This offers you a ton of options and flexibility for your entire trip!
Accessorize: Accessories like scarves, belts, hats, and jewelry elevate your outfits without taking up a lot of suitcase space. This black crochet belt pairs well with this embroidered headband to polish your outfit, and a scarf is a must-have for air travel to use as a blanket and a fashion layer. Grab these beaded hoops for extra flair that goes with everything, and these stackable bracelets for a pop of color!
Selecting footwear: Shoes and boots can take up a ton of room in a travel bag or suitcase. If you want to bring boots for your trip, consider wearing them to/from your destination to allow more space in your suitcase. If you pack them, stuff them with socks and undies to make the most of your suitcase space. Or consider a bootie as a travel alternative to a full boot. There is always room to add in some flat sandals or flip flops to wear around the hotel room and/or to the pool/hot tub/beach.
Bags and purses: Consider a tote to get you to and from your destination, and throw in a crossbody for shopping and adventures and a clutch for a night out. These can all next during your travel, providing lots of options for your spring break activities to keep you looking great and feeling organized.
This extra large quilted tote has handles with a crossbody guitar strap option, and this traveler zip handbag comes in black or carmel, both great travel options.
You can’t go wrong with the mini crossbody wristlet on your trip! This is great for using the crossbody strap during the day, and as a wristlet/clutch for the evening if you want to dress it up. It comes in so many colors! Choose a neutral, or pick your favorite hue to bring a pop of color to your outfit! We also have this quilted version.
The convertible clutch bag with a woven strap should be in everyone’s spring break bag! It is oh-so stylish with its woven wristlet strap, and has a crossbody option!
Manage clothing wrinkles for your trip:
Nobody wants to spend time ironing or steaming while on vacation! When packing, select clothing made of fabrics that won’t need an iron, like jersey knits or polyester blends. Items we love for travel that are versatile and don’t need an iron include our gray knit dress (dress it up or down!), black braided kimono shawl, and our gray midi tank dress.
Roll your items when you pack, instead of folding them, to avoid creases. If you have hangers available at your destination, hang your tops and bottoms up upon arrival to get any minor wrinkles out so you can grab and go on your vacation.
