Our Fave Spring & Summer Concert Outfit!
Finally the days are getting warmer and the sun is staying out past 7 pm, and that really means one thing in Colorado–outdoor concert season is starting! Whether you have a Red Rocks concert coming up, going to a gig in Festival Park in Downtown Castle Rock, or you are heading to Denver to catch your favorite band and grab some drinks, we have the *perfect* concert outfit for you! Equally cute and comfortable, this look is a true stunner that we’ll be wearing on repeat to alllll concert season long!
The Skirt is the Star of the Look!
Ruffled Mini Skirt – Arriving Soon!
The headliner of this concert chic look is truly this gorgeous mini (but not too mini) skirt! It’s the perfect, above-the-knee fit, with a feminine and flowy fit that is perfect for dancing in. Plus, it has a super-stretchy, super-comfortable, and super-flattering wide elastic top band that makes it easy to wear all evening without feeling too tight after dinner or a few drinks or on a hot, long day sitting outside. It’s cool, stretchy perfection.
We also love the micro-dot pattern that adds a subtle touch of color and pattern, while still being super easy to style for a variety of looks. The color combo of white and navy is so timeless and fresh too, great for spring and summer alike.
Lastly, we know not every gal thinks skirts are comfy–hot days & thighs aren’t always the most comfortable coupling! But we have a tried and true trick to help with that! Just wear a thin bike short underneath! This keeps your thighs from touching and it also gives you peace of mind knowing that you’ll stay covered, even in the event of an unexpected gust of wind or an overzealous spin! …And trust us, you’ll feel like twirling in this beauty!
Easy Top Layering For Changing Temps
White Twist Front Tee | Medium Wash Denim Jacket
Classic white tee + denim jacket: it’s our outdoor concert go-to look because it’s both effortless and stylish…and functional! We like to kick the look of our basic tee up a notch by opting for one with some subtle shape and detail. This tee is perfect to pair with the skirt because the front twist detail sits at the right spot and creates such a flattering shape by drawing in at the waistline. Also, the center seam creates a minimalist eye-line that, again, draws attention to the midline to highlight and elongate your figure. So, truly, this tee is anything but basic!
Next, layer a medium-wash denim jacket on top for an extra layer of warmth and coverage, which is great for an outdoor concert where temps might drop in the evening. This jacket matches this look so well with the slightly fitted look and shorter (but not cropped) length. If you get too warm with it on, not to worry! Simply tie it around your waist to stay hands-free, while also looking as if it’s an intentional, trendy look which is great for a concert.
Add Some Personality With Accessories
These white and beige cowgirl boots are everything! Paired with this outfit, these neutral toned boots are amazing. They look fresh & modern paired with this blue & white color scheme, while also giving that classic country look that is perfect for an outdoor concert. Plus, they are so comfortable, which is so important for concert season. If you’ve been to Red Rocks, you know the hike that it is to get there… high heels and unsupportive sandals just won’t cut it! Is there anything cuter than cowgirl boots and skirts too? And with the classic denim jacket too, this outfit is just pure laid back summer vibes.
To finish this outfit off, you’ll want to add a little shin with a long, layered necklace. Our favorite necklace with this outfit is this handmade beauty from local jewelry designer, Alison Kelley. The modern, geometric shapes of dots and rectangles in this necklace echo the dotted design of the skirt. And, the combination of pearly white and rustic gold with a chunky layered look lays perfectly on top of the white tee. It’s both relaxed and feminine–perfect for this outfit.
Top off this entire outfit with this functional and cute little cream crossbody. We adore how this cream crossbody creates a modern monotone, coordinated look. It looks intentional and streamlined paired with the white boots and tee, while also contrasting so beautifully against the denim jacket. This also allows the skirt to really be the main stage event of this look without too much competition for pattern or color. Crossbodies are also perfect for concerts because they are petite, comfortable, and don’t slip off your shoulder like a normal handbag.
