Keeping Your Stripes
Stripes continue in popularity, especially for those looking for a classic pattern that is not a floral, polka dot, or plaid. Stripes elevate wardrobe basics by creating visual texture and interest. From tees to sweaters, incorporating stripes into your outfit gives you a mod look!
Let’s address the fable that horizontal stripes make you look wider – this pattern actually acts as camouflage and can enhance your figure if worn properly. If you have tried on horizontal stripes in the past and didn’t fall in love, it may have been the cut of that particular top or sweater. Stripes are a great pattern to balance your figure. If you are smaller on top or have wider hips (pears and apples), a horizontally striped top or sweater can help create the illusion that your top is larger. To lengthen your legs, pair high-waisted or full-length pants or jeans, instead of cropped pants, with your striped top. Here are some of our favorites:
Short Sleeves and Tanks
Short-sleeved tops and tanks can stand on their own or be a great pattern for a layer that coordinates with outerwear. Consider wearing a striped tee or tank with a jacket or cardigan in coordinating colors and patterns to include large floral, circular pattern, or houndstooth. Tops that have combinations of vertical and horizontal stripes together on the same top are statement pieces that require only coordinating basics to show them off.

Long Sleeves
Long-sleeved striped tops are perfect for wearing on their own or under a vest, blazer, or jacket. There is nothing like a stripe pattern peeking out from beneath a solid top layer to create visual interest and add spice to your ‘fit!
